How to run older windows application in windows XP?
Now-a-days Windows XP is one of the most popular operating systems used on PCs. Windows XP run the computer programs properly, that particularly written for windows XP versions (XP Home and Professional), but some older programs that were written for earlier versions of the windows (Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000) having compatibly problems to run in Windows XP. When you run a program (Windows 95/98/NT compatible) in windows XP, you will get an error message like "This program requires windows older versions".
But Windows XP provides you a very useful feature "Compatibility Mode" to run these older programs properly in Windows XP. This mode is particularly designed for those programs that were written for old windows versions (Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000).
Perform the given steps to run older programs using windows compatibility mode wizard:
To active this feature, you will need to be logged into your computer with administrative rights.
First click on Start button and then click on "Help and Support" to open help and support center page.
Under the "Pick a Help topic" section, click on "Fix a Problem" and then on next page click on "Application and software problems" link.
Now on right side of the page, under the "Fix a Problem" section, click on "Getting older programs to run on Windows XP" link.
Now read some details and click on "Program Compatibility Wizard" link.
